The forecast is for perfect weather to go fishing on Saturday! Join fellow OPTU members at Sahuarita Lake on Saturday, January 14, 9:00 a.m. for the first fishing outing of 2017. Families and especially youth are encouraged to participate. OPTU will have several fly rods and reels for loan to those family members that don’t have fishing gear. Free fly casting instruction is available for first-timers. Also, several tenkara-type rods will be available for anybody that wants to try that style of fishing. Bring your own flies.

There will be a one-fly contest for anybody who wants to participate, starting about 9:00 and ending at noon. For those interested, meet near the amphitheater on the south end of the lake to sign in and get a copy of the rules for participation. Bragging rights and a prize will be awarded to the angler who manages to land the most fish using only one fly.
